2024 ASA Application Now Open for Judges
We are pleased to announce commencement of recruitment for judges for the 2024 Australian Sake Awards begins today.
We hope that you take this opportunity to deepen your knowledge of “Japanese sake” and “sake tasting”, and look forward to the participation of all successful applicants and welcoming you as part of this year’s judging panel for our association.

Judging Day – Day 1 | Saturday 18 May, 2024 10:00am~4:00pm Customs House, 31 Alfred Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia |
Judging Day – Day 2 & 3 | Sunday 19 and Monday 20 May, 2024 Time and Venue to be announced (Sydney) |
Judging Method | Each judge will taste approximately 30-50 different types of Japanese sake in a blind tasting, using wine glasses. Evaluation is conducted based on the criteria established by the association, with a scoring system of up to 10 points for each criterion, accompanied by comments. (There is no food matching evaluation on Day 1) |
Application Requirements | 1. Australian citizens (including multinational Australian permanent residents). 2. Those working in the sake and wine industry (sommeliers, Japanese sake qualification holders, food and beverage professionals, sake retailers, exporters and wholesalers, etc.). 3. To be able to attend the first day of judging in Sydney. 4. To be able to participate in the two judges briefing and lectures. |

Maximum Number | 80 people * If the total number of applications exceeds the limit, a draw will be held to determine the winner. * Final Jury announcement will be made on 5 March 2024 |
